A good translation for a good text

What goes to make a good translation?

Ideally, all translators have a perfect command of their working languages, possess assurance in style and language fluency.

Given these prerequisites, the advantage of being a native speaker of the target language is not always a decisive criterion.

Especially in the case of technical texts know-how, experience and specialization are features that are far more important.

However, not only professional expertise, but also the personal qualities of the translator such as an analytical and critical mind, interest in getting into a new subject and a structured, conscientious and reliable working method contributes to a good translation.

Lastly, effective intercommunication before, during and after a translation job and the development of customer trust and loyalty will have a beneficial influence on the quality of a translation.
